Found in the Gospel of Matthew, the Three Wise Men came from the east, following the star of Bethlehem to worship the newborn Jesus. They are equally referred to as the Magi, the Three Kings, and Kings from the East. They brought gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to honor baby Jesus. The arrival of the Kings in Bethlehem is often referred to as the adoration of the Magi, and it corresponds with the celebration of Epiphany, often called the Twelfth Night of Christmas. In modern times, Epiphany is often celebrated on the 6th of January.
