Jesus in silhouette has his hands raised to the father, who is lifting him from earth toward heaven, as described in John 12:32: "And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself." This image symbolizes the Ascension, which happened 40 days after Jesus rose from the dead.
