This brushstroke image of the cross is complemented with the words A Ransom for Many. This was taken from Mark 10:45 which says that "The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." In other words, Jesus became the sinless sacrifice to pay the price for the sins of mankind -- past, present and future.
