Religious Letter and Grant Writing

Now that you've decided on a letter-writing campaign for your fundraiser, the next step is to figure out what sort of mailing your church would like to make. There are two primary options - direct mail and grant application.

Direct Mail
Direct mail campaigns involve sending letters to potential donors in order to make your case and ask for funds for your cause. They can be highly effective if you've got existing lists of potential donors and some startup funds to pay for the costs of printing and mailing your letters. We've put together a collection of tips and examples to help you with all aspects of your letter-writing in order to see you raise more funds for your organization.

Grants and FBCOs
FBCO funding, (FBCO stands for "faith-based community organizations") is a relatively new option available to churches and other religious groups for acquiring funds. If your church is providing a community service (such as a youth group, soup kitchen, or homeless shelter), you may be eligible to receive funds from government at the local, state, and federal levels. There are also a number of private organizations which provide grant-based funding to religious organizations. Why not yours?
