In the natural world, sons carry on the name of the family as a birthright. All a son has to do to receive authority to use the name is to be born. In the kingdom of God, one isn't born a son, he is taught how to be a son.

True Fathers Protect and Comfort their Sons
God is the true father. He is willing and able to crush those who would dare to mess with His family. He brings comfort to the fatherless and caresses us with strong and calloused hands. Unlike some earthly fathers, God has never broken a promise and has vowed to lever leave us all alone.

Sons Become Fathers and Fathers were Once Sons
Every father was once a son. The torch of wisdom is passed from one generation to the next and Christian maturity is gained by becoming a son.

Expecting the Kind of Authentic Love that Children Expect from God
Another childlike attribute that would be esteemed by Christ is a child's expectation to be loved, not hurt. Unless a child has been traumatized somehow, they expect to be loved and nurtured. The source of authentic ultimate love is God the Father. It is through the revelation of Father God in Christ, that one finds the source of genuine love. Believer and non-believers alike, should come in the expectation that they are loved, and that a way has been made to enter fully into that love by Jesus' ministry.

Christians Enjoy an Eternal Relationship with God as Father
When a person is saved or made whole, they have the Spirit of God inside, His incorruptible seed, which makes that person a child of God. Instantaneously taken from death to life, the person now has the spiritual blessing of an eternal relationship with God as their Father.

The Commandment that Comes with a Promise
Honor Your Father and Mother is the only commandment with a promise attached to it. And yet the promises of God are eternal, still providing benefits for believers today.

Balancing the Christmas Holiday Season with Blended Families
While God never intended for families to be broken, His grace can bring blended families out of the brokenness into peaceful acceptance of each other. With time, the relationships can even grow into unity and fellowship where division and anger once ran amuck.
